Since the founding of our predecessor, Yamagiwa International Patent Office, we at AXIS Patent International have continued to support the IP activities of our internationally ambitious clients in line with our motto of “providing the best service to our clients” by leveraging our broad network of IP firms in other countries to provide support in every area from prosecuting patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks through to dispute resolution, invention discovery, and IP portfolio strategy design.
 
We re-organized from sole proprietorship into a corporation in 2006 in order to provide our clients with a system that allows them to entrust us with their IP projects with even greater peace of mind through the permanence and stability of our business, and through the various initiatives introduced on this website, we have continued to strive to become an IP firm that is even more suited to the era of IP globalization.
 
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust we have received from our many clients both in Japan and overseas, which has enabled us to continue our business for more than half a century since the time of our predecessor.
 
Given the history of invention it, it’s clear that the types of revolutionary inventions that serve as catalysts for change always arise during times of social transformation. A good example is the invention of the Harvard mouse*1, which greatly spurred the development of biotechnology. Today, we are entering an era in which we are required to address issues that could potentially threaten the survival of the human race, including global warming and pandemics, and an inevitable paradigm shift is about to occur.
 
Against the backdrop of this global situation, values such as the SDGs*2 and ESG investments*3 have moved into the international limelight, and the need for innovative inventions that will change the future is on the rise. At the same time, competition among companies in the arena of technological development is expected to become fiercer than ever, and the importance of creating, protecting, and utilizing intellectual properties will only increase .
